Space Defence

"We’ll give you boys, um, one minute to think it over, then tell us your decision. I just hope, for that pretty girl, it’s a good decision, if you know what I mean." The outcast turned around and began talking to his friends. Genesis walked back to Tyrone, who was still holding the girl.

"This is not good, not good at all. What are we going to do?" Tyrone whispered.

"I’ll hold off the outcasts, you run back to the ship with the girl." Genesis instructed.

"I am not leaving you with these guys, they’ll blast you to nothing!" Tyrone shouted.

"Tyrone, I am commanding you to return to the ship and get back to Yuong. Do not worry about me. We had this discussion about life decisions and mortality. This time must come to you eventually." Tyrone sighed and ran off with the girl. The outcast turned around and noticed what happened,

"Stop!! Stop or we’ll open fire!" The man shouted. Four outcasts fired their weapons. The blasts headed straight for Tyrone and the girl, the shots were straight on target, within seconds the shots would hit them both. Tyrone stopped, and watched in horror as the blasts came dangerously close to hitting them both. But the shots bounced of a strange force field that surrounded them; Tyrone was confused, but relieved that he was still alive. Tyrone looked in front of him, he was shocked to see Remone standing there, creating the protective bubble that had saved their lives.

"What are you doing here?" Tyrone asked.

"You can thank me later, but for now we’ve got to save Genesis." Remone replied.

"What will we do?" Tyrone asked.

"When the bubble drops, you take the girl back to the ship and warm up the engines, I’ll get Genesis, if we’re not too late." Remone instructed. Tyrone nodded his head. The bubble vanished and Tyrone shot of instantly, heading towards the ship. Remone leaped forward and landed beside Genesis. Genesis was using his staff and knocking down any outcast that attacked him. Remone whipped out his blaster and shot an outcast; the outcast fell to the ground, Genesis looked down at him,

"Was that on full effect!?" He shouted. Remone shook his head,

"Stun! He’ll wake up feeling like he was hit with a ton of bricks!" Remone replied as he threw an outcast over his shoulders. The leader of the outcasts charged at Genesis and began firing his blaster. Remone jumped in front of the shots and deflected them with his sword. He then ducked, allowing Genesis to foot sweep their attacker to the ground. Remone jumped up and kicked the blaster out of his hand.

"Retreat! Retreat!" He screamed as he crawled up back on his feet. The other outcasts stood up and ran off, away from Genesis and Remone.

"I appreciate you coming to help us Remone." Genesis shook his hand.

"We’re a team, and a team looks out for each other." Remone smiled and the two walked off in the direction of their ship.

Tyrone placed the girl on a table aboard the ship. He took a large blanket and put it around her to keep her warm. He combed her hair back and stared at her,

"She’s beautiful, for a human." He thought to himself. He bent down to kiss her, but jumped back up again when the ship’s door opened. Remone and Genesis walked through over to him. Remone looked at the girl, he looked confused,

"Who’s the girl? Did she get attacked by that creature?" Remone asked. Genesis stepped over to him,

"She is the creature." Genesis answered. Remone’s face dropped in complete shock,

"No way is that the creature. I am not believing that!" Remone shouted.

"Ssh! You might wake her up." Tyrone told him. Remone continued to look at the girl, then he jumped back,

"Wait a minute, if that’s the creature, then I don’t want to be on this ship when it wakes up." Remone walked towards the door.

"She’s heavily sedated, she won’t wake up until we get her back to Yuong." Tyrone explained. Just then his communicator began to buzz, he switched it on and Avona appeared,

"Do you have the creature?" She asked.

"Sort of." Tyrone replied.

"What do you mean, sort of?" She asked.

"The creature transformed into human form." Tyrone pointed the communicator over to the girl, then back to him,

"Oh my, is she okay?" Avona asked, she was also stunned,

"Sedated, heavily, thanks to some outcasts who attacked us. We’ll have to get her to a medic-bay as soon as we get back." Tyrone replied. Avona nodded her head,

"I’ll prepare one immediately." The communication ended. Genesis and Remone walked over to the ship’s control and put on their safety belts. Genesis flipped a switch that started up the engines. Remone pulled back on the stick, and the ship began to hover above the ground. Suddenly the ship began to shake from behind, Tyrone jumped up before he fell down to the ground,

"What the hell!?" Remone shouted. Genesis looked in the back display screen and noticed a small tank shooting at them, along with some outcasts,

"Seven, no, eight outcasts and a tank are heading our way." Genesis pointed out.

"If we don’t do something quick here, sleeping beauty is going to wake up." Remone remarked. He unbuckled his belt and ran to the back of the ship,

"What are you doing?" Genesis asked.

"Get the ship ready for hyperspace, I’ll hold them off." Remone replied. He jumped on a seat and switched on the laser cannons. He began to fire a line of shots at the ground, which scared off the people on the ground, but the tank kept on coming towards them. Remone aimed at the tank and fired three shots. Each shot hit the tank, but seemed to do no damage. The ground troops got back up again and continued to fire. One of them managed to damage the laser cannon on the ship, making it useless,

"S**t! We’ve got a problem! How long to hyperspace?" Remone asked. Genesis looked at a display in front of him,

"Forty seconds! Hold them off a little bit more." Genesis shouted.

"With what? Scrap metal!?" Remone roared. The ship continued to shake and rumble as blasts from behind rocked the ship,

"We’ve lost the hull shields, we won’t last much longer like this!" Remone shouted. He jumped off the seat and walked over to the garbage shoot. He emptied all the trash he could into the machine and switched it on. He then jumped back on to the seat and aimed the cross-eye at the tank, then pressed the trigger. A gigantic ball of solid trash fired at the tank and smashed on to it. The tank shook, until it fell over on to its side.

"Woo Hoo!!!" Remone cheered. Genesis pushed forward two throttles at once and the ship rocketed forward into hyperspace. Remone jumped back off the chair and walked over to Tyrone, who was keeping an eye on the girl,

"Tyrone?" He tapped his shoulder,

"Tyrone? Hello?" Remone got no response from him, he was looking at the girl,

"Ah forget it!" Remone groaned and walked over to Genesis.

"Check out him back there." Remone pointed behind him. Genesis looked back and saw Tyrone touching the girl’s long, blond curly hair.

"This could be bad." Genesis commented.

"Don’t worry, they’re from different worlds, and she’s a genetic creature, he’s a defender of the realm, it’ll never work." Remone remarked.

"Just the other day Tyrone mentioned meeting someone and settling down, and his mortality, I’m afraid that it’s having some serious effects on him." Genesis replied. A screen on the console began to flash,

"Bring her out, we’re here." Remone pointed out. Genesis pulled back on the two throttles, and the ship quickly came out of hyperspace.

Within ten minutes the girl was in a medic-bay. They had put a robe on her so she was no longer naked. Doctors where examining her while the others, including Avona.

"She seems perfectly healthy. No marks on her body and no signs of any transformations." Avona was discussing the facts with the defenders.

"Trust me, she transformed, we seen it ourselves." Tyrone replied.

"I have no doubt that she did Tyrone, but a full investigation will have to be done on the matter." Avona explained.

"I wonder how long she has been living on earth, and why she attacked those people." Genesis wondered.

"And me!" Remone shouted. Tyrone looked through a small window that let people see the medical room. The door opened and a doctor walked out, the four stood up and turned to him,

"She’s human all right, no doubt about it. The transformation is a complete mystery to us. She will be released in a few days." The doctor explained.

"When will she wake up?" Tyrone asked.

"We’re unsure, she was subjected to a heavy dose of tranquilizer. It could be a few days." The doctor replied. The five jumped in horror when another doctor smashed up against the plastic window. He slid down the window, leaving a trail of blood. Screams and roars could be heard from inside the room. The doctor ran back through. Another loud scream could be heard and the doctor smashed through the window. Genesis bent down and checked for a pulse,

"He’s dead." Genesis stood back up again. Remone, Genesis and Tyrone stepped forward and surrounded Avona,

"Go to a safe place, we shall handle this." Genesis told Avona. She agreed and ran out of the medical bay. The three stepped into the medical room. The girl had woken up and was now in creature form. She looked at the three and roared at them. Genesis took his staff and held it with two hands; Remone took his dagger and extended it to the sword. Tyrone refused to prepare himself with a weapon. The creature jumped in front of them and walked around the bed, whipping its tail forward, knocking the bed on its side. It roared again, then looked directly at Remone,

"Hey I think it wants another go at me!" Remone shouted.

"Try not to kill it, we can change her back." Tyrone explained, the others agreed. The creature jumped into the air, and went straight for Remone, but he managed to jump out of the way in time. He stood up and faced the creature, head to head,

"Come on, let’s see what you’ve got!!" Remone roared. The creature growled at Remone, but he didn’t budge. The creature jumped for him, but Remone ducked, grabbed the creature by its tail and began to swing it around and round,

"How do you like getting hurt you little bitch!?" Remone roared. The creature screamed in pain. Tyrone stepped up and took his bow and arrow,

"Remone!" He shouted. Remone turned round just as Tyrone’s arrow hit him. Remone suddenly let go of the creature and smashed up against another bed in the room. The creature landed on the ground and jumped for Remone again. Genesis threw his staff. The staff sank right into the creatures back. It roared in pain and tried to get the staff out.

"What did you hit Remone with?" Genesis asked.

"I was aiming for her with my stun arrow, but he swung it round to quickly and I missed." Tyrone replied. They both ran over to Remone and helped him up; he was almost out cold. They picked him up and balanced him on their shoulders,

"What the hell?" Remone was feeling dizzy and confused. The creature continued to scream in pain.

"How can we help her?" Tyrone asked. Remone reached down and took his blaster. He tried to steady his arm, and then he fired a shot at the creature. A direct hit sent the creature flying to the ground. They let Remone go and he also fell to the ground.

"He killed her!" Tyrone shouted.

"No he didn’t, the gun was only on low effect, she’ll be fine." Genesis walked over and took the staff out of the creatures back. The creature jumped to its feet, roared at the top of its voice and smashed through another window out of the building. Genesis and Tyrone ran to the window and looked down,

"That’s a direct drop!" Tyrone screamed. Tyrone and Genesis ran out of the room and began to head down the stairs to get out of the building and find the creature.

They both ran out of the building. A group of people where standing around something in the middle of the city. The two ran up to the group and looked over, it was the creature, on the ground. Tyrone closed his eyes and concentrated,

"She’s badly hurt, needs medical attention, or she won’t make it!" Tyrone shouted. He pushed through the crowds and bent down to the creature. He went to pick it up but it jumped on to its feet and began to slash at Tyrone. He flipped back, trying to dodge the razor sharp claws. The creature looked up and then jumped into the air, higher than anyone else could jump. It grabbed onto a metal pole then jumped away, and ran down the street. Genesis caught up with Tyrone,

"We have to catch it before it can hurt innocent people." He instructed and the two chased after the creature.

Remone woke up on the floor of the medic-bay. His head was spinning and his back was in pain. He realized that they had left without him,

"Damn, that’s twice they’ve done that to me!" He shouted. He then stood up and took his sword,

"I’m going to make this b***h pay for this!" He roared as he ran out of the building.

Genesis and Tyrone caught up with the creature and had it cornered up against a large wall. The creature backed up and began to growl and slash at them both,

"Calm down, we don’t want to hurt you, we want to change you back to normal!" Tyrone tried to explain. The creature stopped growling, and it looked at Tyrone,

"We’re the good guys here, we’re trying to help you." Tyrone softly said to the creature.

"You cannot help me." The creature replied in a metallic voice. Genesis and Tyrone where stunned.

"You can talk?" Genesis asked.

"Yes. I am human after all. I’m scared, where am I?" She asked.

"The planet Yuong. We’ve brought you here in order to attempt to reverse the transformation process." Genesis answered.

"What about Earth, I want to go back to earth, I have to go back!" She shouted.

"What’s so important about earth?" Tyrone asked. Just then Remone stepped forward, sword in hand, the creature saw him and she began to growl and roar at him,

"Yeah, I thought you might say that!" Remone shouted. Tyrone and Genesis tried to hold him back, but it did no good,

"Come on you freak, bring it on!" Remone shouted. She growled at him and jumped towards him. Remone swung his sword at her, and slashed her stomach. She screamed in pain and fell to the ground. Purple blood began to pour onto the ground and she began to cry in terror.

"That’s what I’m talking about!" Remone wiped his sword clean. Tyrone punched his stomach,

"You idiot! She’s human, and can talk!" Remone dropped his sword and clinched his stomach. Tyrone ran over to the creature and made sure she was alright,

"Don’t worry." She said, "It will heal it self. It wouldn’t be the first time I was slashed by a blade." She continued to tend to her wound. Remone stood up and walked over to Tyrone.

"You punched me, hard!" He shouted.

"Yeah well I’m sorry." Tyrone responded.

"You will be." Remone stood back, and kicked Tyrone in the face, sending him up against the wall. Genesis rushed in and held back Remone,

"Remone, Tyrone, stop this roughness immediately. It is unforgivable behavior for Defenders of the Realm." Genesis continued to hold Remone back from Tyrone.

"I’m alright, I’m alright, I’m cool, I’m calm, okay." Genesis let Remone go. He walked over to Tyrone and shook his hand,

"Sorry Tyrone, I just snapped." Tyrone accepted his apology and the two turned around. The creature had transformed back into her human form. She stood up but her bottom was showing where her tail once was. Remone took of his jacket and gave it to her, she put it on and covered herself,

"Thanks…Remone." She smiled, but was red in the face with embarrassment. Genesis walked over to the others.

"We will have to take you back to Avona and discuss certain matters with you." Genesis informed her.

"Certain matters?" She asked. u

"Yes, accommodation here on Yuong. You cannot go back to earth." Genesis explained.

"I have to, that’s where…" She stopped talking as she suddenly fell to the ground. The others caught her and placed her softly on the ground. They looked at her and noticed a bullet on her stomach.

"Electron field! They’ve knocked her out." Remone shouted.

"That’s right, and if you don’t give her to us, I’ll se a more lethal dosage." A voice from behind said. They turned around and noticed a man standing with a medium sized gun in his hand. Genesis stepped forward, with Remone and Tyrone behind him in a "V" shape.

"We are the Defenders of the Realm, we have been instructed to escort this young woman back to Supreme Councilor Avona Lei." Genesis explained.

"I’ve been paid a lot of money to capture this little beauty, alive, and nothing is to stop me." The man replied. Remone stood forward,

"We’re Defenders of the Realm, you cannot possibly overpower each of us." Remone warned him. The man reloaded his gun and shot Remone. Remone quickly formed a protective bubble around himself, but he bullet pierced the bubble and hit him, rendering him unconscious.

"That’s two, who’s next?" The man laughed as he reloaded his gun once again. Tyrone and Genesis stood firmly on the ground, prepared to stand their ground. The man aimed his gun at Genesis and fired. Genesis leaped into the air and dodged the bullet, but the man fired again, this time successfully hitting Genesis, who fell to the ground unconscious.

"You’ll never get away with this!" Tyrone shouted.

"My dear man, once you’re out of the way, I’m taking the girl with me, and that’ll be that." The man aimed at Tyrone and grasped the trigger,

"Goodnight!"
