Space Defence

Megara

Part 1

Thanks to Megara (varner@alaweb.com) for letting me use her character in this story, I hope she approves of the story line!

In the year 2099, the galaxy is under threat by evil. Gangs, organizations, insane characters all try to take control of the galaxy. But three men protect the galaxy; these three men are the DEFENDERS OF THE REALM. Genesis, Tyrone and Remone use their developed unique powers to assist the galaxy in destroying evil threats for good. But now a new evil could threaten the galaxy…

100 years ago, the Chronos Corporation dominated the planet earth. Chronos used alien DNA, alien knowledge, processing tanks, thousands of un-expecting volunteers and a tight grip on the authorities. They used normal humans and inserted alien DNA into their systems through the processing tanks. The humans would then transform into gigantic, hideous, creatures known as Zoanoids. These Zoanoids had strength almost a hundred times more powerful then any human being. In order to avoid gaining attention to them, a reverse process was enabled, so the Zoanoids could go back to their human form for as long as they needed. But Chronos was not invincible. Three alien devices, called Unit-G where discovered by separate hosts. Sho Fukamaji, a 17 year old who went to a high school in Japan, hosted Guyver 1. Agito Makashima, an employ of Chronos, spied on the company and informed Sho of any interesting plans. Agito hosted Guyver 3.

Yuong was a bright planet with a large population and an ever-growing city. 30% planet was inhabited with the city, another 30% was complete forest, and the other 40% was covered in water. The water was clean, and very drinkable. The city was very clean also, no pollution. Supreme Councilor Avona was in charge of the world. She was a very wise leader, always made the right decisions. Avona was in her twenties (forty in human years). She had short, dark brown hair that was curled. She was also responsible for the Defenders of the realm.

Avona was in her large room, sitting on a chair. She was waiting for the Defenders to arrive; she had some important news to discuss with them.

Genesis, Remone and Tyrone where walking down the large hallway on their way to Avona’s room.

"Wonder what Avona has to tell us?" Tyrone was curious. Remone nodded his head,

"Maybe Canton’s returned from the dead to get revenge on us!" Remone laughed, the others didn’t.

"That’s not funny." Genesis remarked. The three went silent until they reached a door. The door slowly slid up until it couldn’t be seen. The three walked over to a desk. Avona was sitting across from it. Her face looked troubled,

"You wanted to see us?" Genesis asked. Avona nodded her head and stood up.

"What’s the matter Avona?" Tyrone asked. Avona said nothing and walked over to a medium sized screen and switched it on. The others watched the screen,

"CHRONOS JAPAN DATA FILE" Appeared on screen. It turned black, and when it came back on again, a large creature stood in its place. The creature was quite large. On its elbows and knees where spikes, at least three inches long. The hands looked human, except with large claws instead of nails.

"Whoa, she needs a pedicure!" Remone joked. They continued to examine the creature. The creature also had talons instead of feet, the talons looked deadly. The creature also had large fangs, almost like a vampire, and a large tail, with a deadly spike on the end. The three were stunned at the creature in front of them. Genesis looked closer and examined the creature,

"It looks female." He ventured a guess.

"It is human." Avona replied. The three almost fell over.

"That thing is not human!" Remone shouted out.

"I’m afraid that it is. It is a transformation creature, created by Chronos." Avona explained. Remone shook his head. Genesis stepped forward,

"Who did this to her?" He asked.

"Chronos Japan. Commander Guyo signed the permission form, and Doctor Kemi performed the experiment." Avona answered. Remone was still shocked.

"So what does this have to do with us?" Tyrone asked. Avona switched off the screen and proceeded to walk to her desk. She took out a data disk and handed it to Tyrone,

"Intelligence tells us that a creature, with the same description of our Chronos creature has attacked several people on the planet earth." Avona answered. Remone paced up and down the room, not being able to acknowledge the details given to him. He walked over to the others,

"Why doesn’t the head superior of earth do anything about this?" Remone asked.

"They have tried, but the creature manages to vanish before they can trace it." Avona replied.

"So it’s up to us to go back to earth, find the creature, but then what?" Genesis asked. Avona sat down on her chair,

"Render it unconscious and bring it back in the cruiser. We will try and reverse the transformation process." Avona explained. The three nodded their heads and left the room. They began to walk back down the hallway to the launch bay,

"This is suicide! You’ve seen that thing, it’s not human!" Remone shouted.

"Let it go Remone, we’ve been given orders, we obey them." Genesis replied. Remone was angry, but decided to say nothing more on the matter.

Back on earth, the head superior, who used to be superior 2, was discussing the current worry with the other superiors.

"Sir, there was another attack at 08:00 hours this morning. We couldn’t dispatch the troops in time." Superior 3 explained.

"What was the result?" The head asked.

"Sadly three lives were lost. This creature is a scavenger and should be destroyed as soon as possible." Superior 3 answered. Superior 4 stood up,

"This is an outrage!" He smashed his fist on the table,

"This creature is another life in this galaxy. We should not condemn it to death until we get a chance to investigate the matter!" The superior looked around him, and saw everyone’s stunned faces and he sat back down.

"I agree with superior 4. The troops will be told to capture, not kill." The head superior instructed. Superior 4 was pleased and smiled.

Twenty minutes later. A white cruiser ship slowly approached the sand dunes of earth. The ship began to slow down, and landed on the planet. The defenders were inside preparing themselves for their mission.

"Flashlights, motion sensors, flash grenades, tranquilizer blasters." Genesis, Tyrone and Remone took one of each item from the rack aboard the ship. Remone took his golden dagger also and slid it in his back pocket. Tyrone closed his eyes, then opened them again, he pointed to Remone’s back pocket,

"No deadly weapons Remone!" Tyrone shouted. Remone kicked the metal door and took his dagger out and placed it on the table.

"It’s not fair to use your power like that!" Remone groaned.

"We’re not killing this thing, we’re taking it back with us." Tyrone explained. Remone groaned again. Genesis opened the doors, and they slowly opened. The three stepped out and looked around the planet. It was dark and the sun had already set. Tyrone took his motion detector and looked at it.

"Nothing here, we should try up ahead." Tyrone suggested. Genesis agreed and the three began to move towards another sand dune, which was higher above the ground. Tyrone’s motion detector began to flash. A large red object flashed across the screen, leaving Tyrone stunned,

"Whatever it is, it’s really fast!" Tyrone shouted.

"It probably knows were here." Genesis pointed out.

"Then we’re going to be a creatures dinner if we don’t stop it!" Remone shouted. He took out his blaster and aimed it out in front of him,

"It’s coming closer…thirty feet…twenty feet…." Tyrone continued the countdown as a growling noise could be heard. The noise became louder and louder until the creature jumped out in front of them. The creature jumped and knocked Remone down. It began to slash at Remone’s chest,

"Get it off me!! Shoot the damn thing!" Remone screamed in pain. Genesis took his blaster and fired tranquilizer cells at the creature. A cell hit it, but had no effect,

"Use something stronger! May I suggest a t-14 hand grenade!!!" Remone struggled to hold back the creature. Tyrone took a flash grenade and smashed it to the ground. A bright light blinded all of them. The creature screamed in fear and let go of Remone. When the darkness returned, the creature was gone, leaving Remone on the ground. Genesis and Remone ran over to him and bent down to help him.

"I’m going to kill that little b***h and send its remains to hell!" Remone screamed as he coughed up some blood. Tyrone examined him,

"He’ll live, for now. We’ll have to get him some medical attention though." Tyrone explained.

"What about the creature?" Genesis asked.

"You mean the spawn of evil?" Remone shouted as he continued to bleed.

"Our blasters have no effect on it. It must be it’s DNA strands which makes it immune to the cells." Tyrone pointed out. Tyrone switched on his communicator which was strapped on to his wrist like a watch, Avona’s head appeared on screen,

"Report?" She asked.

"The creature has severely damaged Remone, he’s loosing a lot of blood." Tyrone answered.

"Did you not use the tranquilizer blasters?" Avona asked.

"No effect on the creature, but a flash grenade did scare it off." Tyrone answered.

"Very well, return immediately. Once Remone has recovered, I will discuss further plans with you." The communications ended. Genesis and Tyrone picked up Remone and carried him back to the ship.

"Little b***h! I’m going to get it and break it’s frikking neck in two!! ! &*£$@!"" Remone cursed as he was placed on top of a medical table. They strapped him in so he would be safe during their trip back to Yuong. Tyrone and Genesis strapped themselves and started up the ship’s engines. The ship began to float up the ground; it turned around 40 degrees, and then blasted forward across the planet’s surface. Tyrone looked down at a screen that was flashing,

"Uh oh!" He said quietly,

"What is it?" Genesis asked. Tyrone pointed to the screen. Multiple objects flashed on the screen, getting closer to the larger green object on the screen,

"Multiple enemy targets in range." Tyrone replied. Genesis flipped a switch on the console, bringing up another control stick; Genesis grabbed the stick and prepared to fire.

"What are you doing!?" Tyrone shouted.

"I’m going to see what I can about those fighters!" Genesis shouted back.

"You can’t, they’re earth patrol ships, we don’t shoot at earth patrol ships!" Tyrone pleaded with Genesis not to fire at the fighters.

"If they open fire on us, we have to defend the ship." Genesis replied.

"Don’t fire, I’ll get this rig into hyperspace within seconds!" Tyrone shouted as he began to key in commands to the ship’s computer. The ship began to rise, and eventually it blasted into hyperspace, leaving the patrol fighters in the dust. Tyrone and Genesis unbuckled their belts, stood up and walked over to Remone.

"I hate that thing, I’m going to get it, kill it, then eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper, then another breakfast!" Remone screamed in pain.

"He’ll be foaming at the mouth in a minute." Tyrone joked. Genesis took a small metal device and injected fluid into Remone’s system.

"Hey, what do you think you’re doing!? Why I ought a!" Remone shouted, but the medicine took effect, and Remone passed out. Genesis put the injection device back on the table.

"What are we going to do about him?" Tyrone asked.

"We shall keep him in the medic-bay for a couple of days. The creature got a good part of him." Genesis answered.

"He’ll want revenge you know." Tyrone pointed out.

"I know, that’s why he shall remain in the medic-bay while we handle the situation." Genesis replied.

"Now a days it seems like only the two out of the three of us ever go on missions, I think it’s time they found replacements for us." Tyrone joked. Genesis smiled.

"I am a Defender of the Realm, and will continue to be one until I am no longer among the living." Genesis walked away over to the controls. Tyrone began to wonder about his mortality.

"Ever thought about the last day of your life Genesis?" Tyrone asked. Genesis nodded his head,

"Yes, but I hope it is a long way away. I like living in the galaxy, I would rather it didn’t end" Genesis replied.

"Ever think about meeting someone, settling down, having kids?" He asked.

"Reproduction? Partners? No. I wouldn’t be a good mate, or father to any siblings, I am to involved with my career." Genesis answered. Tyrone sat down and took the ship off of automatic and began to fly wild. Going left, flipping round, looping the ship, flying reckless. Genesis looked concerned,

"What are you doing Tyrone!?" He screamed.

"Enjoying my life!" Tyrone screamed back as he continued to flip about the galaxy.

***THE NEXT DAY***

Remone opened his eyes only to find himself in a medic-bed. He had bandages wrapped around his chest and he was connected to a heart monitor machine. A note was beside him, he picked it up,

"Hey sleepy head! It’s Tyrone. Now don’t worry, you’re in the medic-bay. Doctors say you’ll be fine; you just need a days rest. Avona will come and fill you in with the other details."

Remone was confused. His head was sore, and his stomach felt worse. Around his room some nurses rushed about making sure everything was okay for him. They constantly asked questions like "Would you like your pillow fluffed?" "Need some water sir?" "How are you doing now sir?" They got on his nerves, which didn’t help him, as he was already angry at the creature that attacked him. The doors to the medic-bay opened and Avona walked over to his bed. She sat down and began to talk,

"Good to see that you are okay Remone." Avona smiled.

"Okay? Ha! Have you seen the state I’m in, I’m lucky to be alive!" Remone shouted.

"We know, that’s why they’ve gone back without you." Avona replied. Remone’s face dropped,

"Gone back to earth without me!?" He screamed.

"Yes. They thought that you might not be up to it, so left this morning to find the creature." Avona explained.

"They can’t go without me, we’re a team, and a team works together." Remone barked.

"A team also looks out for each other. We need you here anyway, we need you to rest so that you can assist them in carrying the creature back into the chambers." Avona smiled.

"You’re caging it up like an animal?" Remone asked. Avona nodded her head,

"Yes, only until we can get some blood and tissue samples." Avona replied.

"But that’s cruelty to…well animals! It’s not right Avona. What are you going to do then? Jettison it into space?" Remone shouted. Avona tried to calm him down.

"Now just hold on a minute. This creature is dangerous, and a threat to anyone around it. It’s already killed over ten people, we can’t let it harm anymore." Avona explained. Remone stood up and snapped the wires from his arms.

"Where are you going?" She asked. Remone walked for the door and opened it,

"I’m going to help my team, we look out for each other you know!" Remone shouted as he walked out the door.

Genesis and Tyrone were looking through a deserted piece of land where the creature might be. So far they had found some bones with blood on them. Tyrone examined the blood by touching it,

"Still warm, something’s here alright." Tyrone stood up again. A growling noise from behind caused them to freeze where they were standing. Genesis and Tyrone took out their small blasters and switched them to stun, they looked around but saw nothing. The growl could be heard again. Tyrone put his blaster in his holster while he checked the motion sensor. A red object moved towards them.

"It’s moving slower than last night, something must be different about it." Tyrone pointed out. The creature leaped out from behind them and growled. It jumped over their heads. Genesis took his blaster and fired at the creature. The blast hit its side, knocking it to the ground. Genesis put his gun down and slowly walked over to the creature. It lay there, motionless, almost as if it was dead. Tyrone closed his eyes and concentrated hard, then opened his eyes again. Genesis looked up at him,

"It’s alive, whatever it is." Tyrone informed Genesis. Genesis bent down to the creature and examined it.

"Wait a minute, what’s this." Genesis pulled out something from the creature’s side and showed it to Tyrone. Tyrone examined it closely,

"It’s a 20th century tranquilizer darts. Someone came pretty close to taking the creature down for good with this." Tyrone explained. Suddenly the creature began to shake. Its pointy ears shrunk back to ears like humans, the talons morphed into human feet. The tail vanished into its original place. The long claws reduced themselves into short, clean white nails and long blond hair appeared, which covered down to what would appear to be human breasts. Tyrone and Remone were stunned at what they saw. The creature was human, a female human, who was now naked. Tyrone took off his coat and covered the girl’s body.

"I can’t believe it’s human." Tyrone remained stunned.

"This cannot be." Genesis was also stunned.

"Avona did say that Zoanoids had the ability to change back." Tyrone pointed out.

"Are you saying that she is one of Chronos?" Genesis asked.

"I’m not sure, but it looks like it." Tyrone replied. The young woman began to groan, the two looked down,

"She’s in pain, we’ll have to get her back to Yuong." Tyrone suggested, Genesis agreed. They both hesitated to move,

"Who’ll carry her?" Genesis asked.

"It’s up to you." Tyrone replied. Genesis then motioned his hand, telling Tyrone to do it. He moaned and went down to pick up the girl. He tried not to touch anything he shouldn’t touch, and was rather successful in the matter. The two turned around and were face to face with a gang of outcasts, each with large rifle blasters in their hands,

"Hand over the creature or nobody leaves here in one piece!" One of the outcasts shouted. Genesis stepped forward and looked at the man,

"What creature are you talking about? All we have is a dear girl who is not well, no creature." Genesis replied. The outcast looked to the others then turned back again,

"I don’t know what you’re trying to pull, but hand over the creature, or we’ll open fire!" The outcast shouted.

"I’m sorry, but we have no creature, we cannot assist you in this matter." Genesis replied. The man loaded his gun and pointed at the girl,

"Give us the creature, or the pretty little girl here won’t live to see her next birthday!" The man wasn’t bluffing. Genesis reached into his pocket and revealed a small blaster. The other outcasts turned their guns at Genesis. He had no choice but to drop the weapon.

"We’ll give you boys, um, one minute to think it over, then tell us your decision. I just hope, for that pretty girl, it’s a good decision, if you know what I mean." The outcast turned around and began talking to his friends. Genesis walked back to Tyrone, who was still holding the girl.

"This is not good, not good at all. What are we going to do?" Tyrone whispered.

"I’ll hold off the outcasts, you run back to the ship with the girl." Genesis instructed.

"I am not leaving you with these guys, they’ll blast you to nothing!" Tyrone shouted.

"Tyrone, I am commanding you to return to the ship and get back to Yuong. Do not worry about me. We had this discussion about life decisions and mortality. This time must come to you eventually." Tyrone sighed and ran off with the girl. The outcast turned around and noticed what happened,

"Stop!! Stop or we’ll open fire!" The man shouted. Four outcasts fired their weapons. The blasts headed straight for Tyrone and the girl, the shots were straight on target, within seconds the shots would hit them both……

To Be Continued.
